A database of medieval Latin abbreviations (first publicly shown in 1992, generally available since 1993), is a great tool for deciphering and transcribing medieval Latin manuscripts.

A facsimile edition of the Codex Sinaiticus, known as the world's oldest bible, has been purchased by the library and is now housed in UVic Libraries' Special Collections.  Dated to somewhere in the middle of the fourth century, this manuscript is important to scholars of the bible and book history, as it was a technological marvel of its age.

On the recommendation of several faculty members, UVic Libraries has just initiated a new subscription to Nature Climate Change.  According to the publisher,
